As outlined in the arrest report, the 30-year-old Wallen was observed on the rooftop of Chief’s Bar at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, where witnesses reported seeing him grab a chair, toss it over the edge, and exhibit amusement. Chief’s Bar rooftop stands six stories above the bustling Broadway strip.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers stationed below on Broadway recounted that the chair landed perilously close to them, merely three feet away, according to the affidavit. Subsequently, officers engaged with bar personnel, eyewitnesses, and scrutinized security footage, all of which corroborated the purported actions attributed to Wallen, as detailed in the affidavit.
Wallen was taken into custody and processed shortly after 12:30 a.m. He faces three felony charges of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He posted bail amounting to $15,250 and was discharged from Davidson County jail by approximately 3:30 a.m.
Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, issued the subsequent statement concerning the country artist’s arrest:
At 10:53 p.m. on Sunday night, Morgan Wallen was apprehended in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is actively cooperating with the authorities.
Chief’s Bar, owned by country music artist Eric Church, recently marked its grand opening over the weekend.
Wallen is scheduled to appear in court on May 3, coinciding with the second day of his three-day performance series at Nissan Stadium..
